JM: Did you have regular access to telephones?
Micah: The phones came on in the morning and went of at
10 PM. We had 3 phones to share with all 45
woman. One of which never worked. The other 2
hardly worked.
JM: What types of charges applied for calling people? How much money would you guess the average inmate spends per week on phone calls?
Micah: it cost about $10 for a 15 minute phone call.
JM: Did you need to buy phone cards to call out?
Micah: No. The people you called had to set up an
account on their phone so you could call them.
JM: Did the jail screen your calls?
Micah: Yes they did.
